So, a friend is getting married and you want to give them the best wedding gifts possible.  But what should you buy them?  Kitchen gifts are one idea, but the choices are limitless, which however, doesn’t mean that anything you should buy will be appreciated by the bride and groom.  Wouldn’t you hate to spend a ton of time and angst over a decision only to find out your gift ended up being regifted?

Did the Bride Choose Her Best Wedding Gifts Already?

A lot of brides will register somewhere, so you already have a list of what they are looking for, and would they would classify as one of the best wedding gifts to receive.  Now, this is always helpful, but it’s something of a double edged sword.  Why?  Because you’re almost compelled to buy from whatever retailer the bride and groom have registered with, but most of the time, this retailer is NOT the cheapest place to buy what’s on their list.  Well, you can pick something on the list that hasn’t been purchased yet and find it at a lower price and buy it there, but that means that it doesn’t get deleted from the register, and someone else could buy it as well.  Depending on how comfortable you feel doing this, you may want to tell the bride you’ve already purchased one of the kitchen gifts on her list somewhere else, and ask her to contact the store that holds the register and have that item removed.  Everybody wins.  The happy couple gets what they asked for, and you got to save money buying it for them.

So what kitchen gifts would make the best wedding presents?  Well, frankly that’s not something we can answer, since each couple will have their own needs, wants and tastes.  If the couple hasn’t registered somewhere, ask around.  Find out what they need.  Are they just setting up a new home?  What about major or small kitchen appliances?  Buying a large appliance as a gift may be more than one person is willing to spend on a gift, so think about getting a group of friends to go in on the cost.
